Professional unions: The speech expressed Jordan's steadfast position on Arab and regional issues

Professional unions praised the speech of His Majesty King Abdullah II before the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, affirming that the royal speech clearly expressed Jordan's steadfast position on Arab and regional issues, primarily the Palestinian issue, and placed the international community before its legal, moral, and humanitarian responsibilities.

The General Secretariat of the Union of Professional Associations said in a statement that the speech clearly carried the voice of Jordan and defended the values of justice, rights, and dignity of peoples, emphasizing that true peace cannot be achieved without justice and the guarantee of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, primarily their right to establish an independent state.

The General Secretariat renewed its support for the positions of His Majesty the King, expressing pride in Jordan's historical role in defending Arab issues and the Hashemite approach to protecting the interests of the Kingdom and preserving its national and pan-Arab principles, affirming that the speech reflects the continuation of Jordan's role in pushing for a just peace and consolidating security and stability in the region.

Abdullah Asem Ghoshe, the President of the Jordan Engineers Association, confirmed that His Majesty's speech embodied a steadfast Jordanian vision based on adherence to principles and the protection of national interests, stressing that the speech formed a clear legal and political defense that placed the international community before its obligations towards the Palestinian issue, considering the timing of the speech to be precise amid escalating threats related to the northern borders and the water file.

Ghoshe said: "His Majesty's speech came to place the world before the reality of what is happening in the occupied Palestinian territories and to affirm that international silence is no longer acceptable regarding practices that have no cover in any international law or charter," pointing out that His Majesty's description of settlement policies and the demolition of homes as blatant violations of international law reflects the customary Jordanian boldness in naming things by their names, and that Jordan's security, water, and borders are lines that cannot be compromised.

For his part, Mohammad Al-Ruwaished, the President of the Nurses and Midwives Union, appreciated His Majesty's emphasis on the importance of adhering to humanitarian values and not fragmenting ethical principles according to political interests, and praised His Majesty's placing of the international community before its responsibilities towards humanitarian crises in Gaza, Sudan, Ukraine, and other conflict and displacement areas around the world.

He affirmed the union's support for what His Majesty proposed regarding the limitations of military solutions in achieving peace and the importance of resorting to international law and enhancing the role of UN institutions in protecting civilians, considering that the contents of the speech reinforce its humanitarian message as part of the national health system, and renewed its affirmation of standing behind the Hashemite leadership and supporting its diplomatic efforts aimed at upholding human dignity.

Dr. Aya Al-Asmar, the President of the Dentists' Union, expressed her full support for His Majesty's positions, which clearly and firmly reflected Jordan's stance towards the Palestinian issue and the Holy City of Jerusalem, appreciating His Majesty's affirmation of continuing to support the steadfastness of the Palestinian people and preserving the historical and legal status quo of Islamic and Christian holy sites under Hashemite custodianship.

She called for translating this national position into practical and responsible cooperation, through strengthening national unity and promoting a culture of dialogue, and confronting rumors and misleading information, affirming that Jordan's strength lies in the cohesion of its internal front, and that standing behind His Majesty's positions is not only with words but by transforming feelings of solidarity with Palestine into responsible professional and community initiatives.

Dr. Zaid Al-Kilani, the President of the Pharmacists' Union, expressed his national pride in the firm position expressed by His Majesty the King, considering the royal proposal to be a fundamental pillar in highlighting the international system's inability to stop the aggression and the severe humanitarian suffering endured by the Palestinian people, and that there is no way to achieve regional stability except by ending the occupation and enabling the Palestinians to establish their independent state.

Al-Kilani renewed the pharmacists' pride in the steadfastness of Jordanian diplomacy and the solidity of the Hashemite approach in defending the historical custodianship of Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, affirming the union's complete adherence behind the leadership of His Majesty the King, considering Jordan to be the firmest support and the steadfast depth for the Palestinian right and the constant caller for the consolidation of justice and human dignity in the region.

Fuad Al-Duwairi, the President of the Contractors' Union, confirmed that His Majesty's speech placed the international community before its political, humanitarian, and legal responsibilities, calling for dealing with crises according to the scale of humanitarian suffering and not according to the level of media attention, and praised His Majesty's warning of the dangers of the continuation of the war in Gaza and what the West Bank is witnessing of settlement, land confiscation, and displacement.

He appreciated His Majesty's affirmation of Jordan's continued support for Palestinian brothers and UNRWA, and the Jordanian leadership's keenness to protect the Kingdom's borders and water security in light of regional developments, renewing its support for His Majesty's positions and backing Jordan's efforts aimed at consolidating peace and enhancing its role in facing regional and international crises.

The Jordanian Geologists' Union emphasized that the speech was a sincere expression of Jordan's historical constants towards the Palestinian issue and a categorical rejection of all attempts to erase or circumvent the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, considering that the continuation of the occupation and the absence of international justice cannot lead to security and stability.

The union affirmed that the international community is more than ever required to move from statements of condemnation to assuming its actual responsibilities in stopping violations, ensuring the delivery of aid, and applying international law without selectivity or double standards, renewing its support for the Hashemite leadership and pride in the Jordanian role in defending Palestine, Jerusalem, and its holy sites.

The positions of these unions converge in their joint affirmation that His Majesty's speech embodied Jordan's national and pan-Arab constants and reinforced the Hashemite custodianship of Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, while all of them renewed their support for the Hashemite leadership and backing its diplomatic efforts aimed at achieving a just and comprehensive peace in the region.
