For their part, MPs Mohammad Al-Marai'ah, Mohammad Al-Marayat, Basem Al-Rawabdeh, Iyad Jibril, Qasim Al-Qaba'i, Ahmad Al-Olimat, and Faliha Al-Khudair emphasized the importance of supporting farmers and producers, regulating import and export to protect local products, considering consumer interests, and contributing to market stability.
In turn, Al-Hiyari stressed the importance of achieving a balance between the interests of the consumer, producer, farmer, and merchant, pointing to the necessity of studying the challenges facing the sector in cooperation with the union and farmer representatives, and finding solutions based on accurate data regarding production volume and actual demand.
He stressed the importance of protecting national investments in the poultry sector and related industries, preserving job opportunities, and enhancing the competitiveness of Jordanian establishments, explaining that the ministry continues to open the door for poultry exports provided it does not affect the availability of quantities needed for the local market.
Al-Hiyari pointed out, according to the preliminary figures he presented, that poultry production reached about 14,012 tons in October 2026, compared to about 30,000 tons in the same month of 2025, noting the importance of reviewing this data and verifying its accuracy before adopting it in assessing the reality of the sector.
For their part, representatives of the poultry sector reviewed the most prominent challenges they face, foremost among them being the high costs of feed, energy, and production inputs, and the decline in sales prices during certain periods, demanding a review of import and export policies, stricter control over imported products, and ensuring they are used according to their specified purposes.
