Ramtha Municipality: Heavy rainfall and mudslides caused water levels to rise

The media spokesperson for Ramtha Municipality, Anmar Al-Zoubi, confirmed that the amounts of rain that fell on the district were very large and in a short record time, which exceeded the capacity of the culverts and drainage channels.

Al-Zoubi explained that the clay nature of Ramtha's land caused mud to be washed away with the rain, which led to the blockage of some openings and a rise in water levels in a number of streets.

He added that the municipality's teams and personnel deployed to the field immediately to drain the water and address the rising levels by opening the main culverts and drainage networks, noting that the market street was reopened after controlling the water level rise in it, and confirming that no reports regarding water entering shops were recorded or dealt with.

Al-Zoubi stressed that the municipality's teams and machinery are still in the field and on high alert to deal immediately with any emergency or report that may arise.
