The head of the Bani Obeid Municipality Committee, Engineer Riyad Al-Jarrah, stated that field crews from the emergency teams and the engineering department dealt immediately and rapidly today with a blockage in a rainwater drainage culvert in one of the valleys near the Irbid-Amman road.
Al-Jarrah explained that this blockage was a result of the heavy rainfall witnessed in the region, noting that the "first rainfall" is usually accompanied by quantities of mud, dirt, and debris. He emphasized at the same time that the field teams were at the highest level of readiness, leading a quick response to open the culvert, address two adjacent culverts, and restore the flow of water.
