MP Dr. Abdul Nasser Al-Khasawneh issued a strongly worded statement today, in which he condemned in the strongest terms the heinous assault carried out by a rogue group in the village of Hamoud in the city of Karak, targeting the unified Jordanian fabric and the bonds of brotherhood that have united the nation's people since the founding of the state.
In his statement, MP Al-Khasawneh affirmed his categorical rejection and full condemnation of this cowardly act, stressing his complete and firm support for the wise Hashemite leadership led by His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein, our valiant armed forces, the "Arab Army," and our security services, which constitute the watchful eye over the nation's security and stability.
Al-Khasawneh pointed out that Jordan, under the leadership of His Majesty the King, sets the finest examples of coexistence and religious harmony for the entire world, emphasizing that this criminal group of outlaws has nothing to do with our true Islamic religion, which categorically rejects such actions; they hide behind the cloak of religion, while religion is completely innocent of them.
He reiterated that Jordan was, is, and will remain resistant to all strife and those who incite it, and that the unity of the noble Jordanian people throughout time cannot be torn apart by a misguided group targeting the nation's security. At the same time, he called for an iron-fisted response against those responsible for, participating in, and executing this despicable assault, and against anyone who dares to tamper with the security and stability of Jordan.
Al-Khasawneh concluded his statement by extending his deepest condolences and sympathy to the families of the righteous martyrs of the incident, asking the Almighty to cover them with His vast mercy, wishing a speedy recovery to the injured, and praying to God to protect Jordan, its leadership and its people, from everything that threatens its security and stability.
