The "La Bud An Tushriq" (It Must Shine) band and initiative is preparing to represent the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in the 10th edition of the "Awladuna" (Our Children) International Forum for Arts of People with Special Abilities, hosted by the Arab Republic of Egypt from September 17 to 24, 2026, with the participation of troupes and artists from Egypt and various countries around the world.
The band is participating in the forum with the experimental theatrical performance "The Gift – What If?", in a participation that seeks to present a Jordanian artistic experience reflecting the capabilities of people with disabilities and affirming their presence in the Arab and international cultural and artistic scene.
This participation comes as a culmination of the efforts of the "La Bud An Tushriq" initiative in employing art and theater as a tool for empowerment and integration, and providing an opportunity for students with disabilities to express themselves, discover their capabilities, and develop their artistic and personal skills through theatrical work.
The initiative's team had selected a number of outstanding students from among approximately 80 students within the "Bright Spaces" project to participate in the theatrical performance, in an experience aimed at boosting self-confidence, breaking stereotypes, and demonstrating that people with disabilities are capable of creativity, achievement, and active participation in cultural life.
Before the team departs for the Arab Republic of Egypt, the experimental theatrical performance "The Gift – What If?" will be presented in a preparatory show on Friday, September 11, 2026, at 7:00 PM, on the stage of the Osama Al-Mashini Theater in Jabal Al-Webdeh, as part of final preparations for participating in the international forum.
The show presents a theatrical and humanitarian vision that transcends the traditional view of people with disabilities, presenting them as holders of talents, energies, and creative capabilities, emphasizing that difference is not an obstacle to achievement, but rather can be a source of strength, beauty, and creativity.
The work team includes Razan Al-Kurdi and Murad Abu Saraya in direction, Dr. Dima Sweidan in music, Razan Al-Kurdi in scriptwriting, and Aya Hamzeh in costumes and makeup.
The cast includes: Ahmed Yusri Ruhi Shahaltough, Ahmed Saif Mohammed Mustafa Al-Maslouqi, Majd Mohammed Khaled Mahmoud Al-Hindawi, Salah Rashad Salah Al-Hourani, Shahdah Talal Abdul Samad Abdul Samad, and Abdul Rahman Mufleh Tawfiq Al-Dwaikat.
This participation comes within the framework of the artistic and voluntary journey of the "La Bud An Tushriq" initiative, which has worked for years to employ theater and arts in serving the community, promoting the concept of integration, and empowering people with disabilities. The initiative was also nominated for the Crown Prince Award for Voluntary Work in appreciation of its efforts in this field.
The Jordanian team is scheduled to head to the Arab Republic of Egypt to participate in the forum's activities, carrying an artistic and humanitarian message affirming that the theater is a space for everyone, that talent knows no disability, and that every human being has a story worth telling.
Through this participation, the "La Bud An Tushriq" initiative aspires to enhance the presence of Jordanian art in Arab and international forums, shed light on the talents of the participating students, and highlight their artistic and humanitarian capabilities, contributing to supporting the culture of integration and empowerment and raising Jordan's name in international forums.
