Iran summoned the German ambassador to Tehran, Axel Dittmann, to the Foreign Ministry, and conveyed a formal protest against the backdrop of Germany's arrest of two individuals suspected of planning attacks on officials in pro-Jewish and pro-Israel associations, and accusing Tehran of being behind it.
According to Iranian state television, Tehran conveyed its formal protest to the German ambassador regarding statements made by German officials that accused Iran.
The German diplomat was informed that the security accusations directed at Iran represent a "method used by Israel and some Western countries for a long time against Tehran," and that providing judicial support for baseless allegations would undermine the credibility of the German judicial system.
Germany had arrested two people on suspicion of planning to target the President of the Central Council of Jews in Germany, Josef Schuster, and the President of the German-Israeli Society, Volker Beck.
It is suspected that the two individuals were planning to carry out the attacks on behalf of Iran.
Against the backdrop of these developments, Germany in turn summoned the Iranian ambassador to Berlin, Majid Nili Ahmadabadi, to the Foreign Ministry.
