The Iranian Foreign Ministry stated on Tuesday that Tehran has summoned the British ambassador over "allegations" linking the Islamic Republic to a suspected plot against Fairford Air Base in Britain.
This move comes after British Prime Minister Andy Burnham said on Monday that it is "highly likely" that the suspected plot targeting Fairford Air Base was coordinated in Iran. Tehran has denied any connection to the matter.
The ministry stated that its Director General for Western Europe informed the ambassador that "the British government must, as soon as possible, provide the documents and evidence supporting its accusations against Iran regarding the alleged incident. Otherwise, the Islamic Republic of Iran will seriously reconsider bilateral relations."
