Britain announced on Monday that it had summoned the Iranian ambassador in London in protest against Iran's attempts to undermine its security and that of its partners through criminal networks and affiliated groups, affirming that it will not tolerate any threats on its soil.
The British Foreign Secretary stated that his country has added two Iranians to the sanctions list for their role in hostile activities on behalf of the Iranian regime, stressing that the British government will not back down from its commitment to countering Iran's unacceptable actions and protecting national security.
In contrast, the official Iranian news agency "IRNA" reported that the Iranian ambassador in London, during his meeting with the British Minister for the Middle East, rejected accusations that Tehran was involved in the Fairford base incident.
The agency quoted the ambassador as demanding that Britain refrain from taking positions or making statements that are not based on evidence, confirming his country's readiness to cooperate with the relevant authorities in the context of the investigation into the incident.
