The Secretary-General of the Ministry of Government Communication, Dr. Zaid Al-Nawaiseh, explained that the official spokespersons system defines the ministry's role in coordinating government media efforts, in accordance with approved policies and plans, alongside organizing communication, information exchange, and coordinating messages issued by ministries, institutions, and government departments, as the entity responsible for the technical supervision of official spokespersons' work.
Al-Nawaiseh added in press statements that the system establishes a unified and binding legislative framework to regulate the work of official spokespersons in ministries, institutions, and government departments, thereby providing a clear institutional reference that governs the mechanisms of coordination between the Ministry of Government Communication and various government entities.
He pointed out that the implementation of the system will lead to the building of an integrated institutional system in which roles are clearly distributed between the ministry and the official spokespersons, while defining the duties and responsibilities of the spokespersons in a way that contributes to unifying the government message and enhancing its consistency.
Al-Nawaiseh stated that the system obligates government departments to appoint or designate an official spokesperson who possesses the required competencies, qualifications, and experiences within the framework of official spokespersons' competencies and the job description, according to procedures aimed at ensuring the selection of competent individuals capable of assuming this responsibility.
He indicated that candidates for the role of official spokesperson will undergo cognitive and practical tests and specialized assessment tools, alongside a personal interview, to measure the extent to which they possess the required skills and experiences to perform government media communication tasks efficiently.
