Elders of the Al-Oqaili Al-Muqabla clan in Balila: Jordan is resistant to strife through the unity of its people and their rallying around the Hashemite leadership

Members of the Al-Oqaili Al-Muqabla clan gathered at the diwan of Mukhtar Rakan Al-Oqaili in the Balila area of Jerash Governorate, affirming their pride in national unity and their rallying around the Hashemite leadership and security services. They emphasized that all Jordanians are children of one homeland, that the affliction affecting any part of the nation is an affliction for all Jordanians, and that the blood of the Karak martyrs will remain a testament to the cohesion and solidarity of Jordanians in facing challenges.

The speakers stressed that the current phase requires strengthening national awareness and confronting extremist ideologies and speeches of incitement and strife, confirming that Jordan's strength lies in the cohesion of its leadership and people, and in the role played by the security services in protecting the nation's security and stability.

Pastor Samer Azar said on Friday that all Jordanians are children of one homeland and share the same affliction. He affirmed that what unites Jordanians is greater than all attempts at division and fragmentation, praising the wisdom and acumen of His Majesty King Abdullah II in managing challenges, and the popular rallying around the Hashemite leadership as a fundamental pillar in maintaining Jordan's security and stability.

In his speech on national cohesion, Mukhtar Rakan Al-Oqaili pointed out that Jordanians are one body, and that genuine national stances appear in times of adversity. He praised the role played by the security services in maintaining security and stability, and the wisdom of the Hashemite leadership in dealing with various circumstances and challenges, and called for the activation of the Amman Message in schools and universities.

From the perspective of maintaining national security, Mr. Ali Mahmoud Al-Oqaili stated that Jordan is an oasis of security and safety, and that the stability it enjoys is a source of pride for every Jordanian. He pointed out that this blessing requires preservation and increased awareness of the dangers of external attempts aimed at sowing strife and division among members of society, confirming that the cohesion and national awareness of Jordanians are sufficient to thwart those attempts.

Dr. Ziad Al-Oqaili reviewed evidence from Jordan's history that confirms the cohesion of the Hashemite leadership with the people in various hardships and circumstances, pointing to the effective role played by the security services in protecting the homeland, safeguarding its capabilities, and maintaining the security of citizens. He condemned extremism, which he considered alien to our Jordanian society and civil peace, praising the role of the leader of the country in combating terrorism internally and externally, and the effective role of our security services in maintaining peace and safety for all Jordanians.

In a related context, Dr. Haitham Al-Oqaili pointed out the importance of distinguishing between true national stances and positions that change with changing circumstances and pressures, explaining that some individuals may display a national discourse in a certain environment, but reveal different positions when circumstances change or restrictions are lifted. He pointed to the need to pay attention to indicators that reveal the exploitation of circumstances to spread extremist ideas, and to enhance societal awareness in a way that protects the national fabric from infiltration.

Dr. Mustafa Taha Al-Oqaili stressed that Jordanians are partners in land, blood, and destiny, and that fighting extremist ideology begins at home, through schools, universities, mosques, and churches, reaching various institutions of society, noting that confronting extremism is a collective responsibility not limited to any single entity.

He added that anyone who bets on weakening national cohesion or undermining the popular rallying around the Hashemite leadership and security services is delusional and a loser, confirming that the unity of Jordanians represents the first line of defense in the face of attempts to sow strife and division.

Regarding the confrontation of extremist ideology, Mr. Ahmed Hamdan Al-Oqaili explained that terrorism has no religion and does not distinguish between an elderly person or a child; it targets humans and societies without discrimination and constitutes a threat to human values and the security and stability of societies. He stressed the necessity of concerted official and societal efforts to confront this phenomenon and dry up the sources of extremist ideology through awareness and education. He called for including educational and awareness topics about the phenomena of extremism and terrorism in school curricula, which contributes to raising the level of awareness among students, enhancing their ability to distinguish between moderate thought and extremist ideas, and consolidating the values of tolerance, acceptance of others, and national belonging, confirming that the school and the family constitute two fundamental pillars in building a conscious generation capable of protecting its society from extremist ideology.

Regarding security challenges, retired Lieutenant Colonel Mohammed Arshid Al-Oqaili warned of internal and external threats surrounding Jordan, confirming that they require the highest degrees of vigilance, awareness, and national responsibility. He stressed the need for all Jordanians to be a watchful eye on the security and stability of the homeland, and to possess a spirit of responsibility and solidarity in facing various challenges. He added that maintaining Jordan's security is a shared responsibility that requires strengthening cooperation between members of society and state institutions, and standing as one rank in the face of attempts to incite strife and destabilize, confirming the importance of rallying around the Hashemite leadership and security services, not being drawn into rumors or speeches of incitement, and consolidating the values of belonging and loyalty to the homeland as fundamental pillars in protecting Jordan's security and safeguarding its achievements.

Regarding the role of educational institutions and youth, student Mohammed Mustafa Al-Oqaili called for condemning the events that target the security of society and contradict human values, demanding that schools and students raise the level of awareness about the dangers of extremist ideology, promote a culture of moderation and national belonging, and stand by the security services in their efforts to protect the homeland.

In concluding their remarks, the participants affirmed that loyalty to the Karak martyrs is not limited to remembering their sacrifices, but is embodied in safeguarding national unity, consolidating the values of citizenship, tolerance, and moderation, and standing as one rank behind the Hashemite leadership and security services, so that Jordan remains resistant to strife and division, a model of cohesion and stability.
