The Ministry of Political and Parliamentary Affairs organized two dialogue sessions in the Sahab District and Ajloun Governorate, which addressed enhancing political participation, the role of youth and women in public work, and the importance of expanding their participation in municipal elections and decision-making.
In Ajloun, the Ministry held a dialogue session today, Sunday, on "Enhancing Political Participation" at the Vocational Training Center headquarters, in the presence of the Center's Director, Laith Al-Qudah.
The Head of the Youth Division at the Ministry, Qusay Al-Zoubi, emphasized the importance of involving youth and women leaders in public and community work, noting that effective political participation allows for translating national belonging into practical initiatives and practices that contribute to serving the country and strengthening the development process.
He explained that the Ministry seeks, through these meetings, to motivate youth to take initiative and participate in formulating public policies, and to enhance their role as partners in national work, which contributes to building an advanced Jordanian political model based on competence, innovation, and inclusive representation of various segments of society.
The Ministry also organized a dialogue session yesterday, Saturday, in cooperation with the Al-Saheel Association for Political Development, titled "Enhancing the Participation of Women and Youth in Municipal Elections," at the headquarters of the Balkouna Foundation for Human Development in the Sahab District. It was moderated by the Association's President, Dr. Ali Al-Maharmeh, with the attendance of the District Administrator, Raad Abu Al-Ghanam, and the Foundation's President, Nisreen Abu Rumman.
The Head of the Committees and Sessions Division at the Ministry, Yasser Al-Shawabkeh, emphasized that the political modernization system embodies the visions and directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II aimed at empowering various components of society and enhancing their participation in public life.
Al-Shawabkeh reviewed the most prominent legislative amendments to the Local Administration Law, indicating that they aim to expand the base of popular participation and enhance the presence of youth and women in local decision-making positions, thereby supporting their role in managing the affairs of their communities and contributing to achieving sustainable development in their governorates.
Participants in the two sessions emphasized the importance of these dialogue meetings in raising political awareness, consolidating the role of youth in leading positive change through active participation in national initiatives and activities, and the necessity of sustaining these efforts and organizing them within institutional frameworks, in addition to strengthening communication between state institutions and local communities.
