Political Awareness Programs for Aqaba Youth

Youth and Young Women Centers of Al-Quweira carried out a specialized interactive training session titled "Simulating the Electoral Process," in cooperation with Al-Thuraya Center for Studies, aiming to enhance political awareness and develop leadership skills among youth groups.

Thirty-five young men and women from both centers participated in the session, experiencing a comprehensive practical exercise to learn the foundations and stages of democratic practice.

The session included several interactive applications and realistic simulation exercises covering all stages of the electoral process, starting from forming blocs and candidacy, through election campaigns and propaganda, drafting statements, to voting, vote counting, and announcing results.

The session was part of a series of activities and programs aimed at empowering youth and preparing them to become genuine partners in the path of sustainable development and building the future.

Meanwhile, the Youth of Jordan We Are Association in Aqaba Governorate, the youth arm of King Abdullah II Fund for Development, organized a dialogue session in cooperation with the Amman Institute for Modernization and Political Studies, titled "Empowering Youth and Enhancing Their Political Awareness in Party Work," as part of efforts to promote youth participation in political and party life and consolidate their role in the political modernization process.

Dr. Mahmoud Al-Karaky emphasized the importance of enhancing active youth participation in political and party life, and entrenching concepts of informed and responsible engagement, contributing to broader youth involvement in party activities, enabling them to understand political party platforms and visions, and recognizing their role in shaping national priorities and contributing to decision-making.

He stressed that political empowerment of youth requires building their cognitive capacities, strengthening a culture of diversity and acceptance of opposing opinions, and transitioning from traditional participation to active political engagement based on awareness, responsibility, and initiative.

For his part, Omar Al-Ashoush, coordinator of the council in Aqaba Governorate, explained that these sessions aim to build comprehensive national awareness among youth and acquaint them with the importance of party work and its governing legislation, noting the council's commitment to providing interactive platforms enabling youth to discuss national issues and express their opinions freely and responsibly.

He added that these meetings help strengthen youth presence in public life, enabling them to play a positive role in serving themselves and their communities, in line with political modernization goals and enhancing youth participation in building the nation's future.

On another note, the Aqaba Union Youth Club's under-15 team played against Lions Academy at Ayla Oasis Stadium, as part of player preparation and development plans, providing under-13 players who were promoted to the under-15 category the opportunity to experience training and playing on an 11-player pitch, and to adapt to larger field dimensions and the demands of this age group.

The club noted that player development does not rely solely on skill, but also includes proper progression, gaining experience, and adapting to various playing conditions, in preparation for upcoming competitions.
