Dr. Iyad Abu Hilal, President of the Association, said that the fair, organized by Eastern Amman for the tenth time, will meet the need of industrial companies in the region for Jordanian labor, calling on job seekers to participate in it and conduct immediate interviews with companies.
He added in a statement, on Tuesday, that the industrial companies operating in the Eastern Amman Industrial Zone are capable of providing suitable job opportunities for young people, based on the role of the industrial sector in supporting national efforts to combat unemployment and support employment, in line with the targets of the Economic Modernization Vision.
He pointed out that the association has previously organized 9 job fairs in cooperation with official and private entities, which formed direct platforms for communication between employers and job seekers, and contributed to opening new horizons for Jordanian youth and enhancing their opportunities to join the industrial and productive sector, explaining that the worker represents the real capital of the industry and that empowering and qualifying him and providing decent job opportunities for him is a priority due to its direct impact on raising productivity and improving the standard of living, and enhancing sustainable economic growth.
According to the association, the Youth Development Project, sponsored by the United States, aims to support and empower Jordanian youth aged between 18-29 years and enhance their access to the labor market, by developing their professional and job skills and linking them to real job opportunities that meet the needs of employers.
Within the framework of the project, the association implements a set of activities aimed at enhancing employment in the industrial sector, including mobilization, awareness, professional guidance and counseling, and training on job readiness skills, in addition to networking with industrial companies and following up on young people after employment, which contributes to supporting the sustainability of job opportunities and enhancing youth participation in the labor market.
The Eastern Amman Industrial Zone, where the first factory was built on its land in 1961, includes the areas of Marka, Ahad, Tariq, Abu Al-Aland, the ring road, Al-Nasr, and Basman, and it has 1,800 establishments, most of which are small and medium industries, providing about 30,000 opportunities, most of which are occupied by Jordanian labor.
