Heavy rainfall accompanied by hail showers in the Northern Jordan Valley region, within the jurisdiction of the Tabaqat Fahl and Muath bin Jabal municipalities, led to the washing away and accumulation of silt and floodwaters, causing the blockage of several rainwater drainage culverts and affecting some main roads.
The head of the Tabaqat Fahl Municipality Committee, Engineer Hamza Al-Momani, confirmed that municipal crews are in the field around the clock to deal with the weather conditions and remove all obstacles, noting that a "grader" from the Services Directorate was utilized to open roads and facilitate traffic flow in Al-Mashari' and on main roads. Engineer Al-Momani explained that the intensity of the rain and hail caused some trees to fall and break in the Sheikh Hussein Bridge area, in addition to a tree falling onto a car in the area.
On the other hand, the cadres of Muath bin Jabal Municipality dealt with the repercussions of the weather conditions; the Mayor of Muath bin Jabal, Engineer Moatasem Al-Omari, pointed out that a tree fell onto an electricity pole in the Waqqas area, causing a temporary power outage which has since been restored.
Engineer Al-Omari confirmed that municipal crews are closely monitoring the situation in coordination with the Civil Defense and the electricity company to restore power in the Waqqas area, noting that a "backhoe" belonging to the municipality is currently at the work site, and that crews will continue their work tomorrow morning to remove the remaining accumulated stones and silt.
Al-Omari emphasized that all roads within the jurisdiction of Muath bin Jabal Municipality are passable, and that the situation is under full control with field teams remaining present to monitor conditions.
