Ajloun Awqaf: Measures to enhance mosque readiness and support needy families in winter

Director of Ajloun Awqaf, Dr. Safwan Al-Qudah, said today, Saturday, that the directorate has taken a set of measures as part of the emergency plan for the winter season, with the aim of enhancing the readiness of mosques and their facilities and ensuring a rapid response to emergency situations.

He confirmed to the Jordan News Agency (Petra) that the directorate has designated 35 mosques in various areas of the governorate to be used as shelters when needed, and has also formed an operations room and an emergency team in coordination with the administrative governorate and relevant authorities to follow up on the implementation of the plan and deal with emergency weather conditions, pointing to the importance of integrated efforts to ensure the provision of necessary services and assistance to citizens.

He explained that the preparations included holding meetings with Zakat committees to raise their level of readiness and secure blankets, food supplies, and basic assistance, which contributes to meeting the needs of families during the winter season.

He pointed to the launch of the "Let's Make Their Winter Warmer" initiative, which targets needy families by providing heating methods, clothing, and food supplies to alleviate the living burdens they face during the winter season.

Al-Qudah indicated that the directorate continues to monitor the readiness of mosques, their facilities, and basic services, in addition to maintaining fire extinguishers, refilling them, and periodically checking their validity, as a continuation of the efforts implemented over the past years to enhance public safety requirements in mosques.
