Director of Tafila Awqaf, Dr. Luay Al-Thunaibat, announced raising the readiness level in the mosques and facilities of Al-Hasa District to be prepared as emergency shelters during the prevailing weather conditions, in service to citizens and in compliance with the requirements of the District's Public Health and Safety Committee.
Al-Thunaibat confirmed the formation of an emergency committee chaired by the supervisor of the Al-Hasa Awqaf office, Salem Al-Qawab'ah, to monitor weather conditions firsthand, in coordination and joint cooperation with Zakat committees in the district to provide all forms of support and assistance to citizens and those stranded, and to provide relief and basic needs for them during emergency weather conditions.
Al-Thunaibat stressed that opening the halls of mosques and their facilities as a refuge and emergency shelter stems from the comprehensive and humanitarian mission of the Ministry of Awqaf in serving the local community, confirming that the directorate has provided field committees and mosques with all necessary requirements to ensure a rapid and effective response to support executive agencies and public safety committees in the governorate.
In the same context, Awqaf personnel carried out an inspection tour today, Monday, which included a number of mosques in Al-Hasa District, with the aim of ensuring their technical and logistical readiness, and monitoring and following up on any observations or potential damage resulting from the prevailing weather conditions and dealing with and addressing them immediately, to ensure the continuity of the mosques' devotional, humanitarian, and societal role.
