Ajloun Awqaf designates 35 mosques as shelters within the winter season emergency plan

The Ajloun Governorate Awqaf Directorate has designated 35 mosques distributed across various areas of the governorate as shelters when needed, as part of the emergency plan prepared in preparation for the winter season, according to Ajloun Awqaf Director Safwan Al-Qudah.

Al-Qudah told Al-Mamlaka on Thursday that the directorate has launched the "Let's Make Their Winter Warmer" initiative, which includes supporting needy families during the winter season by providing heating supplies, clothing, and food items, contributing to alleviating the living burdens on these families.

He added that the plan included forming an operations room and an emergency team at the directorate, in addition to continuous coordination with the administrative governorate in the province and the competent authorities to ensure a rapid response and handling of any emergency situations the governorate may witness. He noted that the plan included holding meetings with Zakat committees in the governorate to raise their level of readiness and secure necessary blankets, food supplies, and basic aid when needed, contributing to supporting citizens during emergency situations.

Al-Qudah pointed out that the directorate has worked on maintaining fire extinguishers in mosques, refilling them, and checking their validity periodically, as a continuation of the campaign implemented in previous years to equip mosques with fire extinguishers.

Al-Qudah explained that the plan also included following up on the readiness of mosques, their facilities, and basic services, and ensuring the availability of the necessary requirements to deal with emergency situations during the winter season.
