Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Tuesday that Washington and Kyiv want to end the war with Russia before winter, following a meeting he described as "positive" with US President Donald Trump on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly.
Zelensky wrote on social media: "I had a positive and productive meeting with President Donald J. Trump at the United Nations General Assembly. The United States and Ukraine want to end this senseless Russian war before winter," noting that the two sides discussed "possible steps to de-escalate that could pave the way for diplomacy".
