US President Donald Trump said that he wants to end the war in Ukraine, expressing his belief that Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky also want this.
Trump added that his relationship with Zelensky is good, affirming that the US government did not participate in restricting "Starshield" services directed at Ukraine.
"Starshield" is a satellite constellation developed by the American company "SpaceX", owned by Elon Musk, to provide secure communication services, surveillance, and reconnaissance capabilities for governments, military, and security institutions. It differs from the "Starlink" service primarily dedicated to providing internet to commercial users and individuals.
The relationship between US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has witnessed mixed statements over the past months, as Trump called on October 10th of this year for the election of a new president for Ukraine, considering that Zelensky had not struck a deal to end the war with Russia despite available opportunities, against the backdrop of a dispute over Ukrainian attacks on Russian energy facilities and a US-Russian agreement to supply diesel.
Zelensky responded that choosing the president of Ukraine is up to Ukrainians, and said he is ready to organize elections if Russia agrees to a 60-day ceasefire.
