Minister of Interior Mazen Al-Faraya said on Monday that security agencies exerted major operational and intelligence efforts to locate the perpetrators of the terrorist attack that targeted the Hammoud church in Karak since the first day, pointing out that these efforts resulted in the arrest of the perpetrators of the terrorist attack.

Al-Faraya explained to Al-Mamlaka TV that the terrorists showed fierce resistance to the security forces, confirming their arrest after sustaining severe injuries.

Al-Faraya pointed out that the perpetrators of the attack are three individuals who were identified since the beginning of the incident, and security agencies used all available means to determine their location, explaining that security forces raided several locations in different places.

He noted that the security agencies expanded the circle of suspicion to include areas that the perpetrators of the terrorist act might have taken, using all technical, visual means and available devices to gather information, including investigating suspected persons.

Al-Faraya explained that the perpetrators of the terrorist act barricaded themselves in a building inside one of Karak's villages, pointing out that the location is near the site of the attack on the Hammoud church.

He indicated that the injuries of the attack perpetrators are critical and in various parts of their bodies, pointing out that they are all Jordanians.

Al-Faraya said that the operation was carried out without any injuries among the Public Security personnel.

Al-Faraya pointed out that there are no indicators confirming the perpetrators' affiliation with external parties, noting that it is still too early to talk about this matter.

Al-Faraya concluded his remarks by emphasizing the necessity of rejecting violence and extremism, noting that Jordan is waging a battle against extremism and terrorism, and that this requires extensive work to address all causes that may lead youth to engage in terrorism and extremism.
