Professional associations praised the Royal Speech from the Throne delivered by His Majesty King Abdullah II at the opening of the third ordinary session of the 20th Parliament, considering it a comprehensive national roadmap and a covenant document that embodies a forward-looking vision for the state's constants and citizens' needs in light of regional and local challenges, while strengthening confidence in the Hashemite leadership and state institutions.
The unions affirmed that the speech consolidated the state's constants in safeguarding security and national unity, prioritizing the citizen's interest, upholding the rule of law, protecting vital resources—foremost among them water security—and maintaining the steadfast Jordanian Arab stance on the Palestinian cause.
The Jordan Engineers Association stated in a release that the speech combined the consolidation of security and national unity with enhancing the role of constitutional institutions, moving forward with economic modernization, and protecting resources, while renewing its support for the Hashemite leadership. It invoked the blood of the Karak martyrs, whom His Majesty described as a covenant to be honored, affirming that terrorism will not undermine the state's resilience and the determination of its people, and valuing His Majesty's firm stance in rejecting those who deviate from the national ranks, calling for the promotion of citizenship and tolerance while rejecting violence and hatred.
The association noted the speech’s emphasis on the pivotal role of Parliament in legislation, oversight, and protecting the public interest, and that differences of opinion represent strength as long as the interest of Jordan is the objective. Regarding the Palestinian issue, it affirmed that security and stability in the region will not be achieved without meeting the Palestinian people's right to their land, praising Jordan's unwavering position in defending Jerusalem and its holy sites, and rejecting Israeli expansionist ambitions.
Regarding economic modernization, the association confirmed that His Majesty’s directives to accelerate the implementation of major projects place the engineering sector before a direct responsibility, considering the Jordanian engineer a pillar in design, supervision, and management. It announced its readiness to participate in their implementation and called for assigning the work to national engineering offices, companies, and competencies, in a manner that provides job opportunities and enhances local value, while adhering to quality and transparency.
It valued His Majesty's emphasis that water security is a national priority that is non-negotiable, calling for accelerating the implementation of strategic projects, led by the National Water Carrier, reducing water loss, and protecting groundwater sources, affirming its readiness to form technical committees to provide advice to the concerned authorities. It also stressed the importance of viewing public office as a duty rather than a privilege, applying the law to everyone, and safeguarding public funds.
The Jordan Contractors Association said it had studied the most prominent contents of the speech, considering that it laid out a national roadmap to confront challenges and contained sovereign messages confirming that Jordan's security and stability are above all considerations, and that confronting obscurantist ideology and terrorism is a national responsibility, praising the role of the armed forces and security services in protecting the homeland.
The association added that His Majesty’s confirmation that there is no immunity for any official and that the rule of law takes precedence over every consideration represents a clear message to entrench justice, transparency, and the fight against corruption, while his directive regarding water security constitutes a strategic step to protect the vital rights of Jordanians, away from external pressures and considerations.
At the regional level, the association affirmed that the speech renewed the Jordanian Arab and historical stance toward the Palestinian cause and warned against expansionist ambitions that threaten the stability of the region, noting that its contents represent a covenant document and a strategic compass for the government and state institutions, requiring work in a one-team spirit to translate the royal visions into tangible achievements that enhance Jordan's strength and elevation.
The association had participated in the opening ceremony of the third ordinary session of Parliament and attended the Speech from the Throne, represented by the Contractors' Syndicate Head Fuad Al-Dwairi and the Syndicate Secretary Dr. Anas Al-Qaroum, affirming its pride in the Hashemite leadership and its continued role in supporting construction and development.
The President of the Jordan Medical Association, Dr. Issa Al-Khashashneh, affirmed that the Speech from the Throne carried deep national messages that boost self-confidence and raise morale, evoking feelings of pride and honor in the homeland and the Hashemite leadership, noting that Jordanians draw from it the meanings of pride, strength, national identity, and belief in capabilities, while deriving from His Majesty’s words the strength of determination and optimism for the future.
He said that the speech reinforces the confidence of Jordanians in their state institutions and establishes that Jordan's strength lies in the unity of its people, their cohesion, and their belonging, pointing out that His Majesty's confirmation that Jordanians grow more cohesive and wise when hardships intensify reflects his confidence in the Jordanian individual and the depth of the relationship between the leadership and the people.
Al-Khashashneh added that His Majesty's remembrance of the Karak martyrs and honoring their sacrifices confirms the leadership's keenness to safeguard the homeland's security and unity, stressing that Jordanians will remain one family, and that terrorism will not undermine their cohesion and the values of brotherhood and coexistence.
He valued His Majesty's emphasis that the citizen's interest must be at the core of every decision, and that true development is that which the citizen feels in their livelihood, education, medical treatment, and the future of their children, affirming that these directives motivate national institutions, especially health institutions, to double their efforts and improve the services provided to citizens.
For its part, the committee supervising the Professional Associations Complex and its subsidiary committees in Irbid affirmed that the Speech from the Throne was comprehensive regarding state institutions, bodies, and citizens, and framed a phase of national work that requires the integration of efforts, the entrenchment of the rule of law and accountability, the protection of public freedoms, and placing the interest of the homeland and the citizen at the core of decisions and policies.
The committee valued the vision contained in the speech regarding safeguarding Jordan's security and stability, enhancing national unity, and addressing life priorities, led by water security and accelerating economic modernization projects, noting the importance of confirming that public office is a responsibility and a duty to serve citizens, and highlighting the constitutional role of Parliament in legislation and oversight.
The committee stressed that the royal contents place national institutions before the responsibility of continuing to work in a one-team spirit, and transforming priorities into tangible programs and achievements that positively reflect on the living standards of citizens and the future of coming generations, affirming its pride in the national and Arab constants that govern Jordan's positions locally and internationally.
