According to separate official statements, Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani held two phone calls with Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, and Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam.

Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Jassim Mohamed Al-Budaiwi also received a phone call from his Egyptian counterpart Badr Abdelatty, during which they discussed the latest regional developments.

The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Al Thani discussed with Safadi bilateral cooperation relations and ways to support and strengthen them, in addition to the latest regional developments.

It added that the call addressed diplomatic efforts being made and joint coordination to reduce tensions and enhance security and stability in the region.

Qatar’s Prime Minister reaffirmed his country’s support for all diplomatic efforts and initiatives aimed at securing freedom of maritime navigation and paving the way for a comprehensive agreement that achieves sustainable peace in the region.

In a separate call, Al Thani discussed with Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam bilateral cooperation ties and ways to enhance them, along with regional developments.

The two sides reviewed ongoing diplomatic efforts and joint coordination to de-escalate tensions and strengthen security and stability.

Al Thani reiterated Doha’s support for diplomatic initiatives aimed at ensuring freedom of maritime navigation and reaching a comprehensive agreement that achieves sustainable peace in the region.

The Qatari minister also reaffirmed Qatar’s consistent position supporting Lebanon’s stability and territorial unity, and its continued solidarity with the Lebanese people, according to the Qatari Foreign Ministry statement.

** Kuwaiti-Egyptian call

In this context, Kuwait’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Minister Jassim Mohamed Al-Budaiwi received on Monday a phone call from Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty.

The ministry explained that the call addressed the latest regional developments and emphasized the importance of continuing coordination and consultation between the two brotherly countries, contributing to supporting and enhancing joint efforts to achieve security and stability in the region.

Mediation efforts led by Qatar and Pakistan continue to revive negotiations between Washington and Tehran, amid reports of progress in indirect talks held in Qatar’s capital, Doha.

The initiatives aim to reach understandings on Iran’s nuclear program, sanctions, and navigation security in the Strait of Hormuz, as part of diplomatic efforts to reduce regional tensions.

On February 28, the United States and Israel launched attacks on Iran, which responded by targeting Israel and American interests in the region, before a ceasefire agreement was reached in April.

On June 18, Washington and Tehran signed a memorandum of understanding on freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, though its implementation stalled due to disagreements over the strait’s security.
