Families of Al-Karak Martyrs: Royal Firmness Eliminates Terrorism and Safeguards Sacrifices

The speech of His Majesty King Abdullah II at the opening of the third ordinary session of the 20th Parliament received attention and praise from the people of Al-Karak Governorate and the families of the victims of the terrorist crime that occurred in the town of Hamoud. They emphasized that its contents carried a firm message regarding the protection of the homeland and the preservation of the dignity of its people, and that attempts to undermine Jordan's stability will collide with the awareness of Jordanians, their national unity, and the vigilance of its security services.

They told "$" that His Majesty's affirmation that "the blood of the Al-Karak martyrs is a pledge upon our necks" embodies the state's decisive position in confronting terrorism and reinforces the national doctrine that rejects extremism, stressing that the perpetrators of terrorist acts are outcasts from the unified Jordanian family and have no place among Jordanians.

Khaled Al-Burgan, one of the sons and relatives of the Hamoud village martyrs, said that the royal speech contained a comprehensive national roadmap for confronting extremist ideology, and that invoking Al-Karak embodies its symbolism and history in state-building and national unity. He added that confronting terrorism is not only a security matter but a battle of intellectual and cultural awareness, noting that the scenes of solidarity and cohesion witnessed by the village of Hamoud during the mourning days reflected the unity and cohesion of Jordanians.

The head of the Hamoud Charitable Society, Fares Al-Halsa, one of the martyrs' relatives, said that His Majesty the King had promised from the first day of the incident to seek justice for the martyrs and the injured, and the Throne Speech came to confirm this commitment. He stressed that Jordan will remain cohesive and strong, and no deviant group will be able to affect its national unity.

The former mayor of Greater Al-Karak and member of the Al-Karak Forum for Popular Activities, Khaled Al-Dmour, said that the speech reflected His Majesty the King's sharing of the Jordanians' pain over the loss of their children, confirming that awareness, steadfastness, and national unity represent fundamental factors in confronting plans that target Jordan's security and stability. He called for closing ranks and strengthening the internal front.

Political activist Abdul Hai Al-Ramadin said that the speech carried decisive messages to pursue extremist Takfiri elements and dry up their support bases, hold accountable everyone who planned or executed the terrorist act, and strengthen national unity, preserve societal cohesion, and protect freedom of expression and participation in public affairs.

Retired Brigadier General Ismail Al-Habashneh said that starting the speech with a minute of silence for the souls of the Al-Karak martyrs carries deep national connotations, confirming that describing the perpetrators of terrorism as outcasts from the Jordanian family blocks any social or religious cover for them. He called for translating loyalty to the martyrs into policies and practices that strengthen national cohesion and integrate the roles of the army, security services, and citizens in protecting the homeland.

The head of the National Charter Party office in Al-Karak Governorate, Jihad Al-Bastanji, confirmed that the speech solidified national constants that reject extremism and terrorism, pointing to the party's standing behind His Majesty the King in confronting extremist ideology and promoting tolerance and moderation. He added that party members from various governorates participated in supporting the people of Hamoud and donating blood for the injured.

The head of the Musawa (Equality) Human Rights Association and member of the Reform Party's Central Council, Dima Al-Majali, said that invoking the Al-Karak martyrs in the Throne Speech represents a firm political, security, and societal declaration, and confirms that their blood is a trust on the necks of all Jordanians. She added that His Majesty the King's assertion that there is no place for terrorists among the Jordanian family strips them of any tribal, national, or religious cover.

Member of the administrative body of the National Charter Party, Bilal Al-Thunaibat, said that the speech embodied the comprehensive national rejection of terrorism and extremist currents, confirming that the values of tolerance, moderation, and coexistence between Muslims and Christians form established pillars in Jordanian society, and that organizations based on Takfir (declaring others infidels) and violence will not succeed in destabilizing its national fabric. He noted that the speech linked terrorist challenges to the violations and displacement taking place in Palestinian territories, confirming the importance of the wisdom adopted by the Hashemite leadership in facing challenges.
