President Donald Trump promised on Wednesday to pay $5,000 to every adult citizen if his party maintains control of both houses of Congress following the midterm elections in November.
Trump told Republicans in Texas, as the party struggles in polls against Democrats, "If the Republicans win, you will win with us and you will get $5,000. It will be called Trump dividends," without clarifying the source of the funds.
