The Social Security Corporation: 69.5 thousand increase in the number of active insured individuals over one year

The number of active insured individuals covered under the Social Security umbrella rose to 1 million and 713 thousand as of October 31, 2026, compared to 1 million and 643 thousand and 440 as of October 31, 2025, an increase of 69 thousand and 560 insured individuals, representing a growth rate of 4.2%.
The Social Security Corporation stated, in a press release issued by its media center, that this rise comes as a result of the measures and actions it has taken in recent periods aimed at expanding the base of individuals covered under the social security umbrella and enhancing access to social protection for various categories of workers and establishments.
It explained that the most prominent of these measures include expanding electronic integration and utilizing government data in coverage procedures, covering expatriate workers, in addition to following up on active individual establishments and expanding field inspection procedures to verify the coverage of workers within them.
The Corporation added that it has continued its procedures related to covering active individual establishments, alongside field inspections, which constitute one of the key tools for verifying actual working conditions in establishments, ensuring the presence of actual workers, and including them under the social security umbrella—thereby reinforcing the enforcement of legal provisions and protecting workers’ insurance rights.
It noted that these measures are part of an ongoing approach to expand the scope of social protection and insurance coverage, reach eligible workers, and leverage advancements in electronic integration systems and the availability of government data, contributing to improved efficiency in coverage procedures and enhanced fairness in applying the provisions of the Social Security Law.
The Corporation affirmed its continued efforts to extend the social protection umbrella to cover all workers across the Kingdom.
