Land Transport Regulatory Commission discusses establishing public transport stations in Al-Muwaqqar District

The Land Transport Regulatory Commission (LTRC) discussed today, Sunday, in a meeting at the Al-Muwaqqar District administration, in the presence of the District Administrator and a number of the Commission's engineers, the reality of public transport services in the region, and studied proposals for developing transport facilities by establishing stations dedicated to serving the residents of the district and public transport users.

During the meeting, the proposed locations for establishing public transport stations were reviewed, including sites that witness gatherings of Hashemite University students waiting for buses.

Engineers from the Transport Facilities Directorate also reviewed the engineering designs and technical proposals for the stations and bus stops, which include providing shelters and waiting benches, designating lanes for bus stops, as well as directional signs, lighting, and waste bins.

These proposals aim to provide safe and organized points for passengers to board and alight, and to limit the random stopping of buses and vehicles on the international road, which contributes to enhancing traffic safety, maintaining the flow of traffic, and improving the level of public transport services in the region.

The Commission continues to coordinate with the concerned authorities, including the Ministry of Public Works and Housing and the Al-Muwaqqar Municipality, to complete the necessary procedures and study the possibility of using the proposed sites in preparation for proceeding with the implementation of appropriate solutions.

This meeting comes within the efforts of the Land Transport Regulatory Commission to develop the infrastructure of public transport facilities, raise the level of services provided to citizens, and enhance the efficiency and safety of the public transport system in various regions of the Kingdom.
