Expanded meeting discusses issues of yellow taxis and smart applications

The Land Transport Regulatory Commission held an expanded meeting today, Thursday, with the Taxi Owners Syndicate and sector representatives in the capital, Amman, and the governorates, to discuss issues related to passenger transport services via yellow taxis and smart applications.

The meeting discussed achieving fairness between service delivery models, and enhancing operational and regulatory compliance, particularly adherence to the approved pricing and the provisions of the regulations and governing instructions, in a way that preserves the rights of citizens and service providers and enhances fair competition.

The Commission affirmed its keenness to continue the dialogue with sector representatives and to address challenges and observations through clear, actionable, and monitorable procedures, contributing to improving service quality and regulating the market.

It was agreed to hold a monthly meeting at the same time to follow up on progress, review the measures taken, and address obstacles, ensuring that the outcomes of the meetings are translated into tangible results.
