The Family Reform and Reconciliation Office at Al-Qasr Court in Karak Governorate begins its operations

The Family Reform and Reconciliation Office at the Al-Qasr Sharia Court of First Instance in Karak Governorate has begun its operations, in a step that strengthens the presence of family reform services and brings them closer to citizens, as part of the Chief Justice Department's efforts to activate alternative dispute resolution solutions in line with its mission and strategic goals.

Family reform offices provide reform, mediation, and family counseling services to disputing parties through qualified specialists in psychological and social family fields, under the slogan (Consent before Litigation and Harmony before Discord), allowing parties to address their disputes in an environment based on confidentiality and privacy. It seeks to bridge viewpoints and reach consensual agreements before resorting to litigation or during the consideration of a case, according to the nature of the dispute and the possibilities of settling it, which contributes to maintaining family cohesion and reducing the burden on Sharia courts.

It is noteworthy that the Family Reform and Reconciliation Offices achieved tangible results in settling family disputes during 2025, by contributing to maintaining the cohesion of more than (9) thousand families and diverting the path of more than (35) thousand cases from judicial litigation to consensual agreements, in results that reflect the growing role of these offices in settling family disputes.

The Chief Justice Department, in conjunction with the expanding role of family reform offices, continues to expand the establishment of these offices, bringing their number to (31) offices distributed across the Kingdom's governorates, which expands the scope of access to reform services, enhances responsiveness to citizens' needs, and strengthens the department's role in preventing the escalation of family disputes.
