The Ministry of Justice organizes a workshop on reforms for the dispute resolution pillar in the Business Ready index

The Ministry of Justice organized, on Monday, a workshop on reforms for the dispute resolution pillar in the Business Ready index, under the patronage of Minister of Justice Dr. Bassam Talhouni, and with the participation of lawyers and representatives from relevant partner entities, with the aim of raising awareness of the reforms, their objectives, and their implications for the justice system and the business and investment environment in the Kingdom.

During his patronage of the workshop, Talhouni emphasized the importance of the reforms related to the dispute resolution pillar and their role in enhancing the efficiency of judicial procedures and developing the justice system, which contributes to improving the business environment, enhancing the competitiveness of the national economy, and increasing the Kingdom's attractiveness for investments.

The workshop comes within the framework of the Ministry of Justice's efforts aimed at introducing the reforms and measures taken within the dispute resolution pillar, and highlighting their importance in developing judicial services and enhancing the effectiveness of relevant procedures, in a way that supports confidence in the judicial system and contributes to providing a stable legal environment for business and investment.

The dispute resolution pillar is linked to Business Ready indicators and World Bank assessments related to the business and investment climate, which highlights the importance of continuing to develop relevant procedures and enhancing their efficiency, in line with the requirements of institutional modernization and development, and supporting Jordan's economic and investment position.

Reforms in this area include measures distributed over short, medium, and long-term phases, according to priorities aimed at addressing existing challenges gradually and achieving continuous improvement in procedures and practices related to dispute resolution.

Contract enforcement and digitalization stand out as two key pillars within the reform efforts, due to their importance in developing procedures, facilitating access to judicial services, and enhancing the efficiency of handling disputes, in line with technical developments and the requirements of the modern business environment.

The Ministry of Justice emphasized the importance of integrating the efforts of the concerned authorities and enhancing the participation of stakeholders in spreading awareness about the reforms, and clarifying their goals and importance, which contributes to supporting institutional development and strengthening the link between modernizing the justice system, improving the business environment, and stimulating investment in the Kingdom.
