Swiss scientists have successfully trained a robotic dog to solve a 4.6-kilogram Rubik's Cube using computer vision and artificial intelligence technologies.
The robot can identify the cube's colors, calculate the required moves, and then execute them precisely using its legs, while learning from its mistakes and gradually improving its performance.
The robot managed to solve the cube in all three trials, taking 8 to 9 minutes per attempt and approximately 30 moves.
The significance of the experiment goes beyond puzzle-solving, as it could pave the way for developing robots capable of performing precise tasks such as turning valves, opening doors, and assisting in maintenance and rescue operations.
