Important win for Al-Arabi.. And Al-Ramtha advances towards the runner-up spot

Al-Arabi managed to escape the bottom of the Pro League football standings after achieving a 1-0 victory over Al-Wehdat, while Al-Ramtha advanced to second place following a hard-fought 2-1 win against its competitor Al-Baqa'a, in the seventh round of the tournament.

Moataz Obeidat scored for Al-Arabi (56), and in the second match, Seif Darwish (27) and the professional player (44) scored for Al-Ramtha, while Obeida Al-Samarneh (60) scored for Al-Baqa'a.

Following its surprising victory, Al-Arabi managed to escape the bottom of the standings and climbed to eighth place with (7) points, while Al-Wehdat remained third with (11), Al-Ramtha succeeded in snatching second place in the standings with (12) points, and Al-Baqa'a dropped to fourth place with (11).

The seventh round matches will conclude tomorrow with two encounters: the first is the summit clash bringing together leaders Al-Faisaly and Al-Hussain at the Amman International Stadium, and the other is the bottom-of-the-table clash between newcomers Doqra and Shabab Al-Ordon at the Al-Salt Stadium.

Distinctive start

Contrary to expectations, Al-Arabi started the match distinctively and came close to opening the scoring in the early minutes, but the vigilance of Al-Wehdat's goalkeeper Al-Amwasi prevented that.

Al-Arabi managed to perform better after applying pressure on the ball carrier and spreading out on the pitch, but against the run of play, Al-Wehdat scored in the 16th minute, which referee Al-Mokhadhmeh quickly disallowed after reviewing the (VAR) technology due to an obstruction against the defender during the goal-scoring build-up.

Al-Wehdat regained alertness after overcoming the opponent's strength, reorganized its ranks, and began advancing into Al-Arabi's areas. It managed to score again, but the referee disallowed it after the ball touched the striker's hand. The remaining minutes of the first half featured intense competition between the two teams without changing the goalless draw score.

Refusal to yield

At the start of the second half of the match, Al-Wehdat's desire succeeded in achieving near-complete control over the pitch as the team passed the ball comfortably among its ranks and scored for the third time, before the goal was disallowed for offside.

Al-Arabi did not yield to Al-Wehdat's control and made several attempts to score until it succeeded through its player Moataz Obeidat in the (56th) minute. The player capitalized on a clearance from Al-Wehdat's defense and successfully shot it into the far corner.

Al-Arabi's goal changed the complexion of the match, which had been going in Al-Wehdat's favor, but Al-Arabi's players successfully capitalized on the opportunity. Al-Wehdat began searching more urgently for a goal and made several substitutions to strengthen its presence in attacking positions.

Al-Arabi's defense intercepted all of Al-Wehdat's attacks, advancing toward the opponent's goal with few counterattacks while seeking to maintain its lead by focusing on defensive duties, after Al-Wehdat set up camp in front of Al-Arabi's goal, but Al-Arabi's resurgence had a different say.

Stability and wastefulness

The start was extremely cautious; Al-Ramtha's ranks showed very organized stability, moving collectively and building attacks that faded early without posing a threat, while Al-Baqa'a's formation displayed clear disarray, positioning itself deep in defense to clear balls and advancing with timid counterattacks.

Al-Ramtha began boosting its movements and exploited the opponent's weak presence until it succeeded in the (27th) minute in scoring the opening goal through its player Seif Darwish, who shot a weak ball before following it up with a second shot into the net. It continued to press the opponent's goal looking for a second goal, while Al-Baqa'a devoted itself largely to defending its goal and avoiding conceding more goals, but failed, as Al-Ramtha managed to secure the second goal (44) through its professional player who received a pass from Seif and successfully shot it to the goalkeeper's right.

A new face

Al-Baqa'a made several substitutions and appeared with a new face, as if the match started for it in the second half, where positivity was found across all its ranks and it became a match for the opponent on the pitch, while Al-Ramtha continued with the same approach it showed in the first half.

The vigilance shown by Al-Baqa'a's players was greater than Al-Ramtha's resurgence, and it succeeded in scoring the goal to reduce the deficit in the (60th) minute through Obeida Al-Samarneh, who capitalized on a rebound and powerfully shot it from outside the penalty area into the net.

With this goal, Al-Baqa'a boosted its chances of turning the score around and began searching for gaps in Al-Ramtha's ranks, which in turn stood as an impenetrable wall against the opponent's attacks that continued until the very last moments of the match. These moments witnessed the expulsion of player Mohammad Kalo after receiving a red card for vehemently protesting the referee's decision. The additional minutes carried many events but without altering the 2-1 score in favor of Al-Ramtha.
