Important win for Al-Arabi over Al-Wehdat.. and Al-Ramtha advances to second place

The Al-Arabi team succeeded in escaping from the bottom of the Professional Football League standings after achieving a 1-0 victory over Al-Wehdat, while Al-Ramtha advanced to second place after a difficult 2-1 win against their competitor Al-Baqa'a, in the seventh round of the championship.

Moataz Obeidat (56) scored for Al-Arabi, while in the second match, Saif Darwish (27) and the professional player (44) scored for Al-Ramtha, and Obaida Al-Samarneh (60) scored for Al-Baqa'a.

Following their surprise victory, Al-Arabi managed to escape the bottom of the standings and moved up to eighth place with (7) points, while Al-Wehdat remained in third (11), and Al-Ramtha succeeded in snatching second place in the standings with (12) points, while Al-Baqa'a dropped to fourth place (11).

The seventh round matches conclude tomorrow with two games: the first is the summit clash between the leaders Al-Faisaly and Al-Hussein at the Amman International Stadium, and the other is the bottom-of-the-table clash between the new arrival Doqra and Shabab Al-Ordon at the Al-Salt stadium.

Distinctive start

Contrary to expectations, Al-Arabi began the match in a distinctive way and almost opened the scoring from the first minutes, but the alertness of Al-Wehdat goalkeeper Al-Amwasi prevented that.

Al-Arabi succeeded in appearing better after exerting pressure on the ball carrier and spreading out on the pitch, but against the run of play, Al-Wehdat scored in the 16th minute, which referee Al-Makhadmeh quickly disallowed after returning to (VAR) technology, citing an obstruction of the defender during the goal-scoring attack.

Al-Wehdat became alert after realizing the opponent's strength and organized their ranks, beginning to advance toward Al-Arabi's areas. They succeeded in scoring again, but the referee disallowed it after the ball touched the striker's hand. The remaining minutes of the first half carried great competition between the two teams but without changing the goalless draw result.

Refusal to yield

With the start of the second half of the match, the Al-Wehdat desire succeeded in almost complete control of the pitch, and the team began passing the ball among themselves with complete comfort, scoring for the third time before the goal was disallowed due to offside.

Al-Arabi did not yield to Al-Wehdat's control and appeared trying numerous times to score until they succeeded through their player Moataz Obeidat in the (56th) minute. The player capitalized on a ball cleared by the Al-Wehdat defense and successfully shot it into the far corner.

Al-Arabi's goal changed the shape of the match, which had been going in Al-Wehdat's favor, but Al-Arabi players successfully capitalized on the opportunity. Al-Wehdat began looking more urgently for a goal and made several substitutions, strengthening their presence in attacking positions.

The Al-Arabi defense was ready for all of Al-Wehdat's attacks and advanced toward the opponent's goal with few counterattacks, seeking to maintain their lead by focusing on their defensive duties after Al-Wehdat set up camp in front of Al-Arabi's goal, but Al-Arabi's awakening had a different opinion.

Stability and confusion

The start was very cautious. Al-Ramtha's ranks showed very organized stability, and the team moved collectively and built attacks that faded early without danger, while Al-Baqa'a's lineup showed clear confusion among its ranks, positioning itself in the back to clear balls and advancing with timid counterattacks.

Al-Ramtha began to strengthen their movements and exploited the opponent's weak presence until they succeeded in the (27th) minute in scoring the opening goal through their player Saif Darwish, who shot a weak ball then followed it up with a second shot into the net. They continued after that to pressure the opponent's goal, looking for a second goal, while the opponent devoted themselves largely to defending their goal and not conceding more, but they did not succeed, as Al-Ramtha managed to achieve the second goal (44) through their professional player who received a ball from Saif and successfully shot it to the right of the goalkeeper.

A new face

Al-Baqa'a team made several substitutions and appeared with a new face, as if the match had started for them from the second half, as positivity was found in all their ranks and they became a match for the opponent on the pitch, while Al-Ramtha continued with the same approach they showed in the first half.

The alertness shown by Al-Baqa'a players was greater than Al-Ramtha's awakening, and they succeeded in scoring the goal to reduce the deficit in the (60th) minute through Obaida Al-Samarneh after he capitalized on a rebound and successfully shot it powerfully from outside the area into the net.

With this goal, they boosted Al-Baqa'a's chances of coming back in the result and began looking for gaps in Al-Ramtha's ranks, who in turn stood as an impenetrable wall against the opponent's attacks that continued until the final moments of the match, which revealed a red card for player Mohammed Kloob after he received it for strongly objecting to the referee's decision. The additional minutes carried many events but without changing the 2-1 result in favor of Al-Ramtha.
