The Royal Film Commission - Jordan has announced the opening of applications for the fourth edition of the "Sardiyat" screenwriters' lab for 2027, in collaboration with the "Sud Ecriture" foundation, founded by Tunisian producer Dora Bouchoucha, with the aim of supporting Jordanian screenwriters and residents of Jordan in developing feature film projects in their early stages.
The lab provides participants with an intensive workspace to develop the cinematic treatments of their projects by working with screenwriters, filmmakers, and specialized consultants, contributing to enhancing their creative capabilities and advancing their projects toward production stages.
Within the framework of the cooperation between the Royal Film Commission - Jordan and "Sud Ecriture," one project will be selected from among those participating in the fourth edition to receive an additional development opportunity by participating in the 45th edition of the "Sud Ecriture" workshops, scheduled to be held in two phases during 2027.
The "Sardiyat" lab activities will take place from January 21 to 27, 2027, in Wadi Rum, in Arabic, with the use of some cinematic terminology in English, and participation will be free of charge.
The lab targets Jordanian screenwriters and residents of Jordan, with October 30 being the final deadline for receiving applications.
The Commission invited those wishing to participate to review the application details and conditions via its website:
