Qatar denies interfering in Israeli elections and affirms its continued efforts to achieve a just and comprehensive peace

The State of Qatar categorically denied, on Thursday, allegations regarding its interference in the Israeli elections or funding any activities aimed at influencing their results, affirming that it is not concerned with political and electoral competition in Israel and that it will not accept having its name dragged into internal Israeli disputes.

The Advisor to the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Majed Al-Ansari, rejected the accusations promoted by some Israeli politicians and media parties associated with them, considering them part of a new disinformation campaign aimed at dragging Qatar's name into internal political tensions in Israel, against the backdrop of the elections that took place this week.

Al-Ansari pointed to the contradiction of these accusations, which range from the claim of buying the loyalty of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and funding the Israeli left, to influencing the votes of Arab voters, as if Qatar, according to these allegations, controls the entire Israeli political scene.

Al-Ansari emphasized that these false accusations are both absurd and dangerous, and that the insistence on dragging Qatar's name into electoral discourse in this manner reflects an excessive obsession with it among some Israeli political and media circles that transcends logic.

He stressed that Qatar is not a scapegoat for the political failures of some Israeli politicians, calling on them, instead of trying to divert attention toward Doha, to respond to the aspirations of their voters and address the repercussions of their disastrous policies on the region.

Al-Ansari reiterated that Qatar does not interfere in political and electoral competition in Israel, as it is an internal matter, and it will not accept being dragged into its disputes.

He affirmed that any government produced by the elections is required to adhere to international law and international legitimacy resolutions, to deal seriously and honestly with the Palestinian cause, and to respect the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people, foremost among them their right to self-determination and the establishment of their independent state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Al-Ansari stressed that these campaigns will not deter Qatar from continuing its role in mediation and its diplomatic and humanitarian efforts and support for the Palestinian people, confirming its commitment to working to achieve a just and comprehensive peace that enhances security and stability in the region.

He confirmed continued close work with regional and international partners to settle disputes through diplomatic means, stressing that silence will not be Qatar's strategy regarding the use of its name to serve electoral agendas or narrow political gains.
