Palestine Committee in the Journalists Syndicate Condemns the Storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque

The Palestine Committee in the Jordanian Journalists Syndicate condemned the Israeli occupation prime minister's storming of Al-Buraq Square in the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, and his presence accompanied by a number of his government ministers in the tunnels extending under the Noble Sanctuary, coinciding with the storming of thousands of settlers into the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque, as the so-called Jewish "Feast of Atonement" approaches.

The Committee said, in a statement today, Sunday, that "this heinous act is nothing but a continuation of the criminal occupation's policy in trying to Judaize the holy city and change the status quo of the Noble Sanctuary, considering it a place of pure worship for Muslims alone under international covenants and customs and the Hashemite custodianship over Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem"

The Committee called on colleagues to focus on the escalation of the Zionist occupation and its herds of settlers in Jerusalem and its suburbs, calling for highlighting the Jordanian role in its steadfastness in caring for the holy sites as the sole authorized body in doing so, and supporting the efforts made by His Majesty King Abdullah II and the government in international forums to end the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories.
