The Jordan National Gallery of Fine Arts inaugurated the exhibition "When Places Awaken with Creativity" at its first building in Jabal Webibean, documenting the museum's journey since its establishment in 1980, the stages of its development, and the expansion of its buildings and internal and external spaces. The exhibition continues until December 31st.
The exhibition, held in the museum's first building, reviews key milestones in the history of the art institution since its launch as the first national museum of fine arts in Jordan, passing through the stages of expansion witnessed by its buildings, halls, and facilities, up to its current presence in the local and Arab cultural and artistic scene.
The exhibition features photographs, documents, and archival materials documenting the stages of the museum's establishment and development, alongside models of works, activities, and exhibitions it has hosted over more than four decades, reflecting its role in supporting the Jordanian plastic arts movement and introducing the public to Arab and international arts.
The exhibition also highlights the relationship between place and art by documenting the transformations that occurred in the museum's buildings and its interior and exterior spaces, and how these spaces contributed to hosting exhibitions, events, and educational and cultural programs.
The organization of the exhibition comes in celebration of the museum's history and journey, affirming its role in preserving Jordanian artistic memory, enhancing the presence of fine arts in cultural life, and providing the public with the opportunity to learn about the stages of the institution's development and the experiences and achievements it has accumulated.
The exhibition continues until December 31st and welcomes visitors during the museum's announced working hours.
