Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah inaugurated on Thursday the art exhibition "Layers of Formation," which is held under her patronage and organized by the Wujood Foundation for Culture and Arts at the Marina Village in Ayla, Aqaba, with the participation of artists from Jordan, the Arab region, and the world.
Her Majesty was accompanied during her tour of the exhibition by Sabih Al-Masri, Chairman of Astra Group; Sereen Al-Masri, Founder and Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Wujood Foundation; and Iman Hindawi, Artistic and Executive Director of the Foundation, where Her Majesty viewed the displayed works and listened to an explanation about the exhibition's themes.
The exhibition features 10 artists from Jordan, the Arab region, and the world, and includes more than 140 artworks ranging from ceramics, textiles and weaving, painting, sculpture, spatial installations, and other contemporary artistic and material practices that address concepts of formation, transformation, and the relationship of art to material, memory, and place.
The Wujood Foundation, a non-profit organization based in Aqaba, is concerned with contemporary arts and culture and is located within the Ayla Oasis development project. It focuses on bringing artists and local communities together through contemporary art programs, live performances, creative collaborations, and cultural events.
The exhibition will continue to welcome visitors at the Moroccan space in the Marina Village, Ayla, Aqaba, until December 10, 2026.
