This came during a detailed inspection tour conducted by the initiative's delegation to the stadium, which included MPs: Tareq Bani Hani, Abdul Nasser Al-Khasawneh, Abdul Halim Al-Ananbeh, Mohammad Bani Melhem, and Shaher Shatnawi, accompanied by the Director of Al-Hassan Youth City, Abdullah Bani Yassin, as they announced their adoption of field and direct follow-up on the rehabilitation works of the Al-Hassan Sports City stadium pitch in Irbid Governorate, to ensure all works are completed according to the specified timelines.
Based on the detailed explanation provided by the city director during the tour, the MPs confirmed that the completion rate of the pitch rehabilitation work has currently reached between 50% and 60%, stressing the importance of maintaining this pace to ensure full readiness within the scheduled dates.
The MPs announced their full adoption of all technical and structural needs and requirements for Al-Hassan Sports City to comply with the terms and specifications of the Asian Football Confederation in preparation for hosting continental matches, confirming that they will adopt these requirements and officially request them from the Prime Ministry to allocate the necessary funds to accredit the stadium and the city at the Asian level.
The MPs stressed that the fans of Irbid Governorate and the northern region have endured a lot over the past period due to recurring problems at the stadium, and their prolonged deprivation of following their clubs at their home stadium, and the resulting hardship of travel, the trouble of commuting, and the risks on the roads to reach the capital, Amman, and other stadiums.
The MPs pointed out that the Al-Hassan Stadium file occupies the minds of the sports community and all the people of the North, confirming that they have conveyed urgent messages and demands from the fans regarding the necessity of quickly completing the stadium and completing the remainder of the league championship matches on it, especially since the governorate includes four clubs competing in the professional league during the current season.
They also stressed the importance of optimal investment in the large sports city facilities to create a sustainable financial return that contributes to its continuous development and modernization.
For his part, the city director, Abdullah Bani Yassin, briefed the MPs on the most prominent stages of work underway on the stadium pitch, confirming the close daily interest and follow-up by the Minister of Youth regarding the progress stages.
Bani Yassin reviewed the most prominent development plans that the city administration will undertake in the coming phase, which include installing modern screens for the sports hall, and issuing tenders for stadiums, halls, and various city facilities to enhance and modernize its infrastructure.
