Ministers of Youth and Local Administration Inspect Al-Hassan Stadium

Minister of Youth Dr. Raed Sami Al-Adwan and Deputy Prime Minister Minister of Local Administration Eng. Walid Al-Masri inspected the works of the project to rehabilitate the floor of Al-Hassan Stadium for Youth in Irbid Governorate, and they reviewed the progress and completion rates of the project.

The ministers emphasized the need to expedite the implementation of the project and complete it within the specified time, while adhering to the required technical specifications, to ensure the readiness of the field to serve the clubs of the North and the sports movement in Irbid Governorate and the northern governorates.

The ministers reviewed the works carried out on the field, which included removing layers of the previous floor and treating defects that appeared during the implementation stages, which necessitated expanding the scope of the works and re-establishing drainage and irrigation networks from scratch.

Technical inspections revealed that the works were no longer limited to changing the turf and surface soil, as it was found necessary to remove deeper layers and re-implement parts of the infrastructure, including drainage and irrigation networks, to address the causes of the problems that appeared in the floor, which date back to works carried out in the year 2016.

These works necessitated extending the duration of the project implementation to complete the necessary technical treatments according to the requirements that appeared during the work stages.

The Minister of Youth said that the ministry would not accept the disruption of the sports movement service in Irbid Governorate due to the problems that affected the field floor and the annual appearance of fungi in the previous turf, stressing the ministry's keenness to address these problems to ensure the sustainability of the floor and its readiness to serve the clubs of the North and the sports and youth movement in the governorate, explaining that the technical defects have reshaped the stadium rehabilitation project with technical and construction requirements at a cost estimated at 850 thousand dinars allocated by the ministry to expedite the implementation of all tender requirements, noting that the completion rate reached more than 50%.

Al-Adwan confirmed that the ministry is following up the implementation of the project according to the technical needs of the field, to ensure the provision of a sports facility capable of hosting club matches, tournaments, and sports activities, and to maintain the regularity of the sports movement in the governorate.

The project to rehabilitate the floor of Al-Hassan Stadium is part of the efforts of the Ministry of Youth to develop sports facilities and raise their readiness to serve clubs, athletes, and youth in Irbid Governorate and the northern governorates.
