Ministers of Youth and Local Administration Inspect the Rehabilitation Works of the Hassan Stadium Field in Irbid

The Minister of Youth, Dr. Raed Sami Al-Adwan, accompanied by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Local Administration, Eng. Walid Al-Masri, inspected on Wednesday the works of the project to rehabilitate the field of Hassan Stadium for Youth in Irbid Governorate, and they reviewed the progress and completion rates of the project.

The ministers emphasized the need to expedite the implementation of the project and complete it within the specified time, while adhering to the required technical specifications, ensuring the readiness of the field to serve the clubs of the north and the sports movement in Irbid Governorate and the northern governorates.

The ministers reviewed the works carried out on the field, which included removing layers of the previous surface and addressing defects that appeared during the implementation stages, which necessitated expanding the scope of the works and re-establishing the drainage and irrigation networks.

Technical inspections revealed that the works were no longer limited to changing the turf and surface soil, as it was found necessary to remove deeper layers and re-implement parts of the infrastructure, including drainage and irrigation networks, to address the causes of the problems that appeared in the field, which date back to works carried out in 2016.

These works required extending the project implementation period to complete the necessary technical treatments according to the requirements that appeared during the work stages.

Dr. Raed Sami Al-Adwan, Minister of Youth, said that the ministry would not accept the disruption of sports services in Irbid Governorate due to the problems that affected the field and the annual appearance of fungi in the previous turf, affirming the ministry's keenness to address these problems to ensure the sustainability and readiness of the field to serve the clubs of the north, the sports and youth movement in the governorate, noting that the technical defects reshaped the stadium rehabilitation project with technical and construction requirements at a cost of JD 850,000 allocated by the ministry to expedite the implementation of all tender requirements, noting that the completion rate reached more than 50%.

Al-Adwan confirmed that the ministry is following up the project implementation according to the technical needs of the field, ensuring the provision of a sports facility capable of hosting club matches, tournaments, and sports activities, and maintaining the regularity of the sports movement in the governorate.

The project to rehabilitate the field of Hassan Stadium is part of the efforts of the Ministry of Youth to develop sports facilities and raise their readiness to serve the clubs, athletes, and youth in Irbid Governorate and the northern governorates.
