More than 200 settlers storm Al-Aqsa Mosque under the pretext of Jewish holidays

On Sunday, settlers stormed the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque in the occupied city of Jerusalem, under heavy protection from the Israeli occupation police.

Palestinian sources reported that nearly 240 settlers stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque from the Mughrabi Gate, carried out provocative tours, and performed Talmudic rituals, amid tightened military measures by the occupation forces in the vicinity of the mosque and the Old City of Jerusalem.

Groups operating under the framework of the so-called "Temple Mount organizations" had called on their supporters to widely participate in storming Al-Aqsa Mosque and imposing new rituals inside it, under the pretext of celebrating the Jewish New Year (Rosh Hashanah).

The occupation exploits Jewish holidays to close roads and impose severe restrictions on the movement of Palestinians in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, which exacerbates their daily suffering and deepens restrictions on freedom of worship and movement, at a time when facilities are granted to settlers while Palestinians are besieged within their cities, villages, and towns.
