The "7th Annual International Conference of the Egyptian Academy of Bone Health and Metabolic Bone Diseases" honored the President of the "Jordanian Osteoporosis Society," Dr. Muzaffar Al-Jalamdeh, at the conclusion of its proceedings in Cairo, in recognition of his extensive national and regional efforts in supporting scientific research and promoting community awareness initiatives for the prevention of osteoporosis.
According to a statement by the society on Saturday, the conference was held in cooperation with the "14th Conference of the Arab Osteoporosis Society," with broad regional and international participation from a selection of senior physicians, scientists, and experts in the fields of orthopedics and joint surgery, rheumatology and rehabilitation, endocrinology, obstetrics and gynecology, radiology, and physical medicine.
The conference focused in its strategic vision on improving mechanisms for dealing with the silent disease of osteoporosis and its associated metabolic diseases, and formulating updated treatment protocols that adopt unified standards for early diagnosis.
The conference sessions addressed the review of the latest standards for bone density tests and fracture risk assessment tools, in addition to studying the close integration between bone strength and muscle power to reduce falls, as well as organizing practical workshops to train young doctors on the latest diagnostic and preventive techniques.
On the sidelines of the conference, participating medical delegations held side meetings and bilateral discussions that addressed future cooperation prospects. Discussions were held regarding arrangements and opportunities to host the Arab Osteoporosis Society conference in the Jordanian capital, Amman, in the coming years—an initiative that received broad Jordanian welcome from the heads of the participating societies and academies, affirming Amman's advanced position as a scientific beacon and a major hub for Arab medical conferences and forums.
