Plan to revitalize the "Al-Karameh Free Zone" and attract investors to restore its economic role

The Director of the Al-Karameh Border Free Zone, Musa Al-Batoush, confirmed that there is an action plan aimed at revitalizing the free zone and enhancing its ability to attract investors, contributing to the reactivation of its economic and developmental role, so that it may serve as a pillar for the national economy, as it was in previous stages.

Al-Batoush said that the Al-Karameh Border Free Zone, located within the Ruwaished District in Mafraq Governorate, which covers an area of about two thousand dunums, possesses strategic elements that qualify it to play an important role in supporting commercial and investment activity, given its border location and its importance in serving economic activities and trade exchange.

He added that the plan developed by the administration focuses on stimulating investment, attracting investors, and working to highlight the opportunities available in the zone, which will positively reflect on the level of commercial activity and contribute to providing new job opportunities for the people of the region and surrounding areas, in addition to enhancing local development in the Ruwaished District and the Northeastern Badia.

Al-Batoush pointed out that revitalizing the free zone requires concerted efforts, providing an appropriate environment for investors, and overcoming the obstacles they may face, which will enhance their confidence in the available investment opportunities and push towards establishing new projects that contribute to driving the economy.

He indicated that the geographical location of the Al-Karameh Border Free Zone and its equipped infrastructure give it special importance within the Kingdom's system of economic and commercial zones, which calls for utilizing its potential and employing it effectively to achieve added value for the national economy and support commercial activity in Mafraq Governorate.

Al-Batoush emphasized that the next phase requires working to translate plans into practical steps aimed at restoring the region's economic momentum and strengthening its presence on the investment map, in line with the trends aimed at stimulating investment and expanding the base of economic activity in the governorates.

According to Al-Batoush, revitalizing the Al-Karameh Border Free Zone constitutes an opportunity to support development in the Ruwaished District and enhance the utilization of the Kingdom's border location, contributing to providing new economic opportunities and transforming available potential into sustainable productive and commercial projects.
