Orange Jordan held the closing ceremony for the "Private Sector Access to Support Startups" (PASS) program, which contributed to supporting 130 entrepreneurs in enhancing their businesses and their readiness to achieve further growth.
The program was implemented in partnership with the Entrepreneurship for Sustainable Economic Development and Employment (E4DE) project, providing participating entrepreneurs with specialized training, mentoring, and guidance tailored to their individual needs, in line with the nature of their businesses and their various growth stages.
The PASS program is part of the E4DE project, implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) in cooperation with the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, with joint support from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development and the European Union.
The ceremony was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, alongside representatives from Orange Jordan, GIZ, the private sector, and a number of mentors for the entrepreneurs participating in the training program.
Over the course of a year, the PASS program worked to support entrepreneurs in developing their skills, addressing business challenges, and preparing their companies for growth, with the aim of helping participating companies increase sales, improve productivity, and enhance their competitiveness by providing practical support based on each company's needs and aligned with labor market requirements.
The program's impact extended to cover a number of governorates, including Irbid, Jerash, Mafraq, Karak, Aqaba, and the capital, Amman. This expansion reflects Orange Jordan's orientation towards building a more inclusive entrepreneurial environment, developing skills, and providing direct communication channels with mentors, embodying the company's firm commitment to sustaining this journey and strengthening its strategic partnerships.
Orange Jordan emphasized that this step is an extension of its efforts to turn ideas into tangible reality that serves the community and national economic and digital goals, which it seeks to contribute to achieving through its responsible and effective programs such as BIG by Orange, part of the Orange Digital Center. The company believes that developing the entrepreneurship ecosystem and empowering youth with the necessary training and guidance enhances their capabilities and opens new horizons for growth.
For its part, the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) indicated that the PASS program represents the importance of linking customized business support with sustainable mentoring and networking with the private sector. It will also maintain this approach beyond the program by providing entrepreneurs with the opportunity for continuous communication with experts and enhancing the role of the private sector in the entrepreneurship ecosystem in Jordan.
The program recently concluded specialized training for more than 85 experts and specialists in the field of entrepreneurship to enable them to perform their roles as mentors effectively, starting from understanding mentoring responsibilities and avoiding key challenges, to developing communication skills, asking questions, active listening, providing feedback, and building trust with beneficiaries.
It is worth noting that the E4DE project is one of the projects of the National Entrepreneurship Policy, which was approved in 2022 and extended until 2027, with the aim of supporting entrepreneurs and startups and strengthening the entrepreneurship ecosystem in the Kingdom.
Through this policy, the Ministry works with its partners to support companies at various stages, from ideation and establishment to growth and expansion, through several pillars, including capacity building, facilitating access to finance and markets, spreading the culture of entrepreneurship, and improving the enabling environment for business growth.
