Under the patronage of Queen Rania Al Abdullah.. Launch of the first National Conference on Parental Well-being in Jordan

Representing Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah, Minister of Social Development Wafaa Bani Mustafa patronized, on Tuesday, the activities of the first National Conference in Jordan on "Parental Well-being, Quality of Life, and Family Support Systems" in Amman, which is being held over two days, organized by the Royal Health Awareness Society in partnership with the Van Leer Foundation.

This conference is the first of its kind in the Kingdom, representing a qualitative milestone in reimagining how cities, systems, infrastructure, and communities affect the daily lives of families and young children, based on evidence and expertise to expand the scope of the discussion toward the care system in its broader sense.

The conference seeks to establish the concept of "parental well-being" as a national priority within the quality of life agenda in Jordan, as it brings together over two days an elite group of decision-makers, representatives of government agencies, researchers, civil society organizations, and development partners, alongside those with lived experience.

During her speech, Bani Mustafa emphasized Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah's vision that child well-being is inseparable from supporting their family, noting the alignment of this approach with the National Social Protection Strategy (2025–2033) to enhance empowerment and equal opportunities. She said: "The importance of this conference lies in it being a unifying platform for exchanging expertise and strengthening partnership between the public and private sectors, civil society institutions, and international partners, to reach practical recommendations that develop policies and services across the Kingdom."

For her part, the Director-General of the Royal Health Awareness Society, Dr. Amal Areifij, explained that the conference adopts an integrated vision for family well-being, confirming that what is being discussed today goes beyond the traditional concept of mental health to touch upon the factors affecting the parental experience as a whole, starting from social support and family-friendly policies, to building environments that enable families to thrive, which intersects perfectly with the society's approach.
