Cooperation agreement to support cancer treatment for underprivileged patients

The King Hussein Cancer Foundation (KHCF) signed a cooperation agreement with the Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature (RSCN), aimed at contributing to the support of cancer treatment for underprivileged patients at the King Hussein Cancer Center (KHCC). Through this partnership, a collection of local handicraft products will be produced by the RSCN, based on designs specific to the KHCF, with the proceeds from these sales dedicated to the patients. This initiative combines humanitarian work with support for local production, reflecting the role of national partnerships in achieving sustainable social impact.

The agreement was signed by the Director General of the King Hussein Cancer Foundation, Mrs. Nisreen Qatamish, and the Director General of the Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature, Mr. Fadi Al-Nasser, within the framework of joint cooperation to utilize community initiatives to support patients and enhance the economic and social development of local communities.

Nisreen Qatamish emphasized that this agreement embodies the importance of integrating national efforts to support underprivileged cancer patients, noting that the Foundation continues to expand its partnerships with various sectors and develop innovative and sustainable initiatives that contribute to mobilizing support for providing treatment and care to patients.

Qatamish added: "At the King Hussein Cancer Foundation, we believe that supporting cancer patients is a shared national responsibility, and that effective partnerships open new horizons for community members to contribute to making a real difference in the lives of patients. This partnership is of particular importance as it combines supporting patients with supporting productive local communities, thereby enhancing the values of solidarity, cohesion, and social responsibility."

For his part, Mr. Fadi Al-Nasser, Director General of the Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature, emphasized the importance of this partnership in utilizing local handicraft products as a means to support humanitarian work and empower local communities. He pointed out that the Society is keen to develop initiatives that combine preserving Jordan's natural and cultural heritage with enhancing the social and economic impact on communities surrounding nature reserves.

Al-Nasser added, "We believe that the sustainability of environmental work is closely linked to empowering local communities and enhancing their role in development. Through this partnership, we seek to expand the humanitarian impact of our handicraft products, so that they contribute to supporting the treatment of underprivileged cancer patients, while at the same time allowing local communities to continue production, develop their skills, and preserve their craft heritage, embodying the values of solidarity and social responsibility."
