The King Hussein Cancer Foundation and the Kuwait Relief Society signed a cooperation agreement aimed at supporting cancer patients coming from the Gaza Strip by covering the costs of medical care at the King Hussein Cancer Center and their accommodation in Jordan during the treatment period.
According to a statement by the Foundation on Wednesday, the agreement was signed by Nisreen Qatamish, Director General of the King Hussein Cancer Foundation, and on behalf of the Kuwait Relief Society by the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Dr. Ibrahim Ahmed Al-Saleh. This came during a visit by a delegation from the Society to the Center, which included a meeting with a number of patients coming from Gaza who benefit from the support, and witnessing the real impact of the humanitarian support provided on the ground.
Qatamish emphasized that the support provided by the Society embodies an extension of the strategic partnerships that bring the Foundation together with supporters from the sisterly State of Kuwait, praising the role of the Kuwait Relief Society for its continuous giving to cancer patients coming from Gaza, which provides them with the opportunity to receive comprehensive treatment according to the highest standards and contributes to alleviating the living challenges they face.
For his part, Omar Al-Thuwaini, Deputy Director General of the Kuwait Relief Society, said that supporting cancer patients coming from the Strip stems from the Society's humanitarian mission and its commitment to standing alongside the most vulnerable groups, especially in light of the exceptional circumstances experienced by the people of the Strip.
He added: "We believe that providing treatment and dignified care to the patient is a humanitarian duty before it is a relief work, and therefore we are proud of this partnership with the King Hussein Cancer Foundation, which is a leading model in providing specialized medical care."
