Extraordinary Arab League meeting on Tuesday to discuss Palestinian developments

The Arab League will hold an extraordinary session at the level of permanent representatives on Tuesday to discuss mechanisms for providing international protection to the Palestinian people and ensuring respect for international law and international legitimacy resolutions regarding the legal status of the city of Jerusalem.

Assistant Secretary-General of the Arab League, Fayez Mustafa, said in a statement that the meeting will be held at the request of the State of Palestine and with the support of member states to discuss ways of Arab and international action in light of the escalating attacks by Israeli occupation forces and armed settlers against the Palestinian people and their property, under the protection and support of the occupation government and its army.

He added that the meeting will also discuss the violations targeting the city of Jerusalem and its international legal status, in light of some countries moving to open embassies in the city.
