The Arab League Strongly Rejects the Forced Displacement of the Palestinian People

The Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, Nabil Fahmy, renewed the Arab League's firm rejection of the forced displacement of the Palestinian people, calling for the implementation of the outcomes of the high-level international conference held in New York last year, and the delivery of aid to the Gaza Strip, emphasizing, in this context, the importance of the tripartite mechanism that includes the League of Arab States, the African Union, and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in support of the Palestinian cause.

This came during the participation of the Secretary-General of the Arab League in the 10th Ministerial Meeting of the Arab-African Partnership Coordination Committee, held in New York on the sidelines of the high-level segment of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, co-chaired by Iraq and Burundi, where it was opened by Dr. Fuad Hussein, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Iraq, considering Iraq as the current Chair of the Arab Summit.

The meeting discussed the situations in Sudan, Libya, and Somalia, and the Secretary-General emphasized that any political process in Sudan and Libya must be of pure national ownership, and that regional and international initiatives should contribute to supporting it.

The meeting also addressed the developments in the Red Sea and the Horn of Africa amid increasing risks to maritime security and supply chains.

Fahmy reiterated the affirmation of the territorial integrity of Sudan, Libya, and Somalia, and rejected any external intervention or arrangements that target destabilizing Arab and African countries, calling for a unified Arab-African voice to demand solutions to the suffering of Sudanese brothers due to the ongoing conflict, and welcomed the Sudanese-Sudanese dialogue process.
